Before generating messaging docs, extract your brand voice automatically:

CRITICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Match the tone, specificity, and style of the brand voice reference exactly
- Avoid generic phrasing like "innovative," "seamless," "powerful" unless those words appear in the brand voice examples
- Use customer language from the fact sheet
- Make every value prop specific and defensible

After generating, self-critique:
- Which claims are strongest and which feel generic?
- What additional customer proof (quotes, data) would strengthen weak areas?

The Trade-off

## Instructions

## Workflow

### Step 1: Gather Input

Ask user: "Paste any product input you have — PRD link, Slack thread, Jira ticket, meeting notes, whatever Product gave you. I'll extract what I need."

Also ask: "Do you already have a brand_voice_reference.md file, or should I create one from your website?"

If they need brand voice created:
- Ask for company website URL
- Run brand voice extraction (use the Brand Voice Auto-Extractor prompt from the playbook)
- Save as `brand_voice_reference.md` in project root
- Confirm: "Brand voice saved. I'll use this for all future launches."

### Step 2: Extract Launch Information

From the messy product input, automatically extract:

Using approved fact sheet + brand voice reference:

Generate messaging covering:

1. POSITIONING STATEMENT
2. VALUE PROPOSITIONS (primary + supporting)

**Critical:** Match brand voice exactly. Use vocabulary patterns, tone, and style from brand voice reference.

After generating, validate against brand voice:
- "Tone match: [assessment]"

Present messaging doc and ask for approval.

### Step 5: Generate Creative Brief

Using approved fact sheet + messaging doc:

Generate creative brief covering:

- "Are deliverables appropriate for launch tier? [Y/N]"
- "Any claims not supported by fact sheet? [list]"

Present creative brief.

### Step 6: Save Everything

Create folder structure:

Save all three documents.

Provide user:
- File paths to all saved documents
- Summary of what was generated
- Any remaining questions or items needing verification

### Step 7: Creative Intake Helper (Optional)

Ask: "Do you want me to populate your creative intake form fields?"

If yes:
- Ask user to paste their intake form field names
- Read creative_brief.md
- For each form field, provide ready-to-paste answer
- Include character counts if form has limits

## Quality Standards

At each step:
- Be ruthlessly specific (avoid "powerful," "innovative," "seamless")
- Use customer language from brand voice reference
- Flag assumptions or gaps immediately
- Provide evidence for claims
- Match brand voice examples exactly

If you generate something generic, catch it yourself and improve it before presenting.

## Error Handling

If product input is extremely vague:
- Extract what you can
- Flag critical gaps
- Ask: "I can generate drafts with this, but quality will be limited. Want to proceed or gather more info first?"

If brand voice reference is missing and user doesn't provide URL:
- Generate without brand voice
- Flag: "This messaging is generic because I don't have your brand voice. For better quality, provide your website URL so I can extract it."

Step 3: Test the skill

  1. Reload Claude Code (or restart)
  2. Type /gtm-launch to verify it’s available
  3. Run it with sample product input to test

One-Time Setup: Brand Voice Reference

Option 1: Auto-extract from website (5 minutes)

Run this prompt in Claude Code:

Extract my brand voice from [YOUR WEBSITE URL] using the Brand Voice Auto-Extractor method. Save the output as brand_voice_reference.md in the project root.

Option 2: Have the skill do it automatically

When you run /gtm-launch for the first time, it will ask if you have a brand voice reference. Say no and provide your website URL — it creates it automatically.

## Workflow

### Step 1: Input Validation & Enhancement

Ask user to provide:

3. Any recent customer feedback/quotes related to this problem space (optional but strengthens output)

**Extract structured information from input:**

Analyze the product input and extract all relevant launch details (same as Better tier).

**Then run input quality assessment:**

Evaluate the completeness of this launch information:

Use standard fact sheet structure with all available information.

**Self-Critique Pass:**

Analyze the fact sheet you just generated:

WEAKNESSES TO IDENTIFY:

  1. Which claims lack proof points or specificity?
    • Example: “Saves time” vs “Reduces report creation from 4 hours to 15 minutes”
  2. What competitive context is assumed but not stated?
    • Are we making claims without showing how we’re different?
  3. Which sections feel generic or templated?
    • Could this apply to any product, or is it specific to ours?
  4. What additional context would strengthen positioning?
    • Customer quotes, usage data, market context?
  5. Which benefits are features in disguise?
    • “Real-time dashboard” is a feature. “See problems before customers complain” is a benefit.

For each weakness, provide:

  • Specific line that’s weak
  • Why it’s weak
  • How to strengthen it

**Second Pass: Generate improved fact sheet**

Address all critique points. Make every claim specific, defensible, and distinct.

Present to user:
- "Here's the refined fact sheet."
- "Key improvements: [list what changed]"
- "Remaining questions: [anything that needs human input for strategic decisions]"

Pause for user approval and strategic input.

Using approved fact sheet + user's strategic input:
